Rates

Generalis Handyman works on an appointment basis in order to ensure all our handymen are as punctual as possible.

Break down of pricing:

We provide a simple, comprehensive price plan. It is usually possible to make an approximate quote during a telephone consultation, or via email, prior to beginning the work. A more precise quote can be made on our arrival.

Hourly rate: We charge £25 per hour (No VAT) with a minimum booking time of 2 hours. Since we offer such a wide variety of skills, most people find it easy to put a list of household jobs together for us in order to fill at least 2 hours.

Daily rate: Our daily rate is £175 per day (No VAT), per workman and equates to 8 hours work. We work from 9-5.30, with an hour for lunch.

Fixed price quotes: In addition to our daily and hourly rate, we also offer a fixed price quote for larger jobs that may take several days or weeks. This must be confirmed in writing prior to commencement of the work. Your tradesmen will confirm the fixed price once the site has been visited and the work formerly assessed in person.

In this industry there are often unforeseen complications. Any extra expenses will be discussed as soon as they come to light. We will endeavour to do this as soon as possible and give you the opportunity to make a decision as to what to do next. At this point, you can decide to continue using our services or end the agreement and simply pay us for the hours completed.

Emergency Call- outs (before 8pm): appointments can only be confirmed via email, as we need your name, address and contact number. We ask for a minimum of 2 hours work- charged at £25 per hour.

Emergency Call- outs (after 8pm): appointments can only be confirmed via email, as we need your name, address and contact number. We ask for a minimum of 2 hours work- charged at £40 per hour. We don’t ask for a call out charge unless we find on arrival that we can’t do anything that night. In this instance, we charge a flat fee of £80.

We also charge any expenses back to the client- such as the congestion charge and parking costs.

We have £2m liability insurance, which covers our customers against potential accidents or damage to property, so you can simply relax and let us get on with the work.

Methods of payment: You can pay by either cash or cheque*

*we require a valid cheque guarantee card to be shown when paying by cheque.

Booking an appointment:

For same day bookings, you can contact us by phone between the times of 7am and 9am. These bookings are only valid for the same day, but are not confirmed until we receive an email from you containing your personal details. However, you must also email us your details in writing.

For all other bookings, we require at least 2 days notice. In both cases, please email us the following details (no text/ SMS, please):
- Full name
 - Address, including postcode
 - Contact telephone number
 - A detailed description of the work required*

* These details will not be passed on to any third parties without your prior consent.

 

Two options:

1. )   You can hire us to complete the work and then purchase any materials required yourself
2. )   We can purchase the necessary materials. If you decide to take this route, we will simply charge you for the items themselves and the time it takes us to purchase them (at a rate of £25 per hour).

If you are looking to save money, it may be best to choose option 1. )

Smaller items, such as filler, screws and raw plugs are provided free of charge.

We accept both cash and cheques- please present a valid guarantee card when paying by cheque.
 
Congestion charges and parking are charged back to the client.

Skip Hire*

Skips are often required for larger jobs. Please do ask us if you would like us to organise this (at a cost of £250 per skip). Alternatively, you can dispose of any larger waste materials yourself.

*When hiring a skip it is necessary to obtain an agreement with your local council.

For your peace of mind

 In the unlikely event that you are not completely satisfied with any aspect of the work done, we will return and rectify any areas of dissatisfaction, at no extra cost.

Our Pricing

We offer affordable and comprehensive prices with no hidden extras. We work at a fixed rate of £25 per hour. Our daily rate is £175 per day, *per workman
*some bigger jobs may require more than one workman.
Unlike many tradesmen, we don’t ask for a call out charge and we don’t expect you to pay our travel expenses.
In the majority of cases it is possible to make an accurate assessment of the work required during a telephone consultation. We work on a minimum service time of 2 hours, so you may wish to provide us with a list of small household jobs in order to make the most of our time.
We pride ourselves on our impeccable reputation when it comes to customer satisfaction. So if, for any reason you are not entirely happy with any aspect of the work done, we will return and endeavor to put things right, at no extra expense to you.


We have £1m liability insurance to give our clients a greater sense of security.

1.  Account Terms

a. )   Invoices will be issued in person, on the day of completion and must be paid
         within 7 days.

2. Overdue Accounts

a. )   Overdue accounts and late payers will be liable to late payment charges at
10% of the total bill. Additionally, an administration charge of £65.00 per
week will be incurred until the date of payment.

b. )   "Inter Master” owner is entitled to employ the services of solicitors and/or collection
agencies to recover all reasonable expenses incurred, in the event that
    payment is not received within 7 days of the invoice issue date.

3.  Fixed Price Quotations

a.)  All fixed priced quotations are made out in writing in advance.

4.  Daily Rates

a.)  The daily rate equates to eight hours work and will be applied unless a
fixed price quotation has been agreed in advance. Any costs incurred in the
form of materials or expenses, will also be charged back to the client.

5.  Booking our time

a.) If you wish to book a days work, at either a fixed/ daily rate, you have two
options:

b.) Book by phone between 7am- 9am . Booked work only valid same
day. But still you have to send by via Email ( 5.c )

c.) Send us your booking time in writing (via Email, not text message) at
least 2 days prior to the date the work is to be carried out, including the
following details:

- *Full name
- *Full address (house number, street name, post code)
- *Contact phone number
- Work you want carried out.

d.) *Personal details will be (completely ) safe with us and won't be passed on to
any third party unless we receive prior written consent.

Purchasing materials:

When it comes to purchasing materials for the work you require to have undertaken. You have two options:
 - you can purchase it yourself, on our recommendations (the cheaper option)
 - We can purchase it for you at a cost of £25 per hour in addition to the cost of the materials themselves

 

 

Cancellation Policy

When cancelling an appointment, please provide as much notice as possible. A cancellation fee of £50 will be charged if notification is received less than 24 hours prior to the work being carried out.

Making a Complaint

If you experience any problems, whatsoever, following our appointment, please contact us immediately. Even if the problem isn’t a direct result of our work, you should still have it assessed as a matter of urgency, as it may cause structural damage to your property.

In the unlikely event that you aren’t completely satisfied with the work completed by one of our handymen, we will endeavour to return and fix the problem completely free of charge as soon as possible.

All returning customers should contact us on our free phone number: 0800… Please make sure you have your reference* number to hand, so that we can find you on our system and then help you as promptly as possible.

*your reference number can be found on your invoice.
